Team
To provide a solution, we first needed to understand their existing processes and methods.
We conducted interviews with customers, stakeholders, and team members to understand the current state. It became clear that efficient data management was crucial, from finalising specifications to releasing the product to market.
These are the people involved:
Product Architect
The Product Architect tracks progress of the products and oversees each team and check on their status.
Pain points:
Comparing data between teams is time consuming and difficult as the data is scattered across multiple files.
There is not standardisation between team.
Sudden and unforeseen changes from the customer.
Verification Engineer
The Verification Engineer runs the tests on a mathematical model of the product and analyses the data.
Pain points:
All the spec and measurement data are maintained in excel.
Multiple and duplicate files.
There is no central area to maintain the files.
Validation Engineer
The Validation Engineer runs the vast number of tests on a handful of actual fabricated products and analyses the data.
Pain points:
Same pain in maintaining the excel files.
Transfer of data and information from the verification team is tedious and time consuming.
Need to switch between multiple tools for filtering and visualising the data. No standard tools within the team.
Test Engineer
The Test Engineer runs a minimal number of test on vast number of fabricated products and analyses data and checks compliancy.
Pain points:
Comparing data between teams is time consuming and difficult.
